3 Monroe Community College 3 What is Banner? An upgrade to FRS, HRS, SIS and ADS SCT Banner includes the following modules: –Finance –Human Resources –Advancement (Alumni/Development) –Student –Financial Aid An integrated, database-driven information system (Oracle)

Banner is a web application –Available 24/7 via a web browser for access by students, faculty and staff –Point and click (GUI) interface –Uses SQL (structured query language) –Reporting software enhancement is BRIO –Provides more functionality for end users

5 Monroe Community College 5 What is Banner? All data reside in one database –Information shared among all applications –Will use generated IDs with SSN as a searchable alternate ID Pushes functionality out of the IT area Individuals can customize their views of Banner
