Cristiano Bozza – European Emulsion Scanning Group – Nagoya Jan 2008 2 Central DB structure Emulsion Scanning DB BAM DB TB_PROC_OPERATIONS BMM DB (Coming) Develop. DB (Coming) TB_BAM_BRICKS TB_EVENTBRICKS DAQ DB Cycle/Time/ ProcOperation

Cristiano Bozza – European Emulsion Scanning Group – Nagoya Jan 2008 3 Emulsion scanning data Intercal./Zones/Views/Microtracks/Basetracks/Grains Scanback Paths/Predictions/Candidates Scanning volumes/Volume slices Aligned volumes/aligned microtracks/volume tracks/ vertices/volume track fits/vertex fits/track attributes (“scanback”, “plapp”, “p???”, “pdgid”)/ vertex attributes (“primary”, “secondary”, “pt”) Users/Machines/Settings/Operations (actions) CS scanning/Candidates

Cristiano Bozza – European Emulsion Scanning Group – Nagoya Jan 2008 4 Emulsion scanning data Logical structure of data in DB Process operation Scan zones Scan views Microtracks Base tracks (optional) Grains (optional) Machines Operators Program Settings CS predictions Predictions/ Candidates When feeding CS scan data, all this info is needed

Cristiano Bozza – European Emulsion Scanning Group – Nagoya Jan 2008 5 Emulsion scanning data Logical structure of data in DB Process operation Scan zones Scan views Microtracks Base tracks (optional) Grains (optional) Machines Operators Program Settings Scanback paths Predictions/ Candidates Microtrack/based scanback works with microtracks promoted to base tracks When feeding Scanback data, all this info is needed

Cristiano Bozza – European Emulsion Scanning Group – Nagoya Jan 2008 6 Emulsion scanning data Logical structure of data in DB Stops/kinks sent to volume scan Volumes Slices This information should also be provided, otherwise the logic of data taking on emulsion is lost (we should not “guess” history!!!) Scanback paths Predictions/ Candidates CS candidates sent to Scanback Scanback paths Predictions/ Candidates CS predictions Predictions/ Candidates

Cristiano Bozza – European Emulsion Scanning Group – Nagoya Jan 2008 7 Present status Emulsion scanning data published from the following laboratories: Bari Bern Bologna Napoli Salerno Total data size: 400,678,387 rows (microtracks only) * TotalScan mtracks are put without filtering * Filtering/promotion applied for Scanback data only (sometimes acquired with angular preselection)

Cristiano Bozza – European Emulsion Scanning Group – Nagoya Jan 2008 8 Central DBs Replication between OPFRA01 and OPITA01 limited to emulsion scanning data for the moment Reason: BAM/BMM/Devel/TTAlign data are in tables whose design might change in the next weeks Automatic multi-queue replication must be set up to use maximum bandwidth available Japanese data: sample code to read SUTS files obtained from Kodama-san, compiled and successfully tested Waiting for final version (slight changes in microtrack ID assignment expected) to develop converter (can be done with small effort using already existing access libraries)

Cristiano Bozza – European Emulsion Scanning Group – Nagoya Jan 2008 9 Brick tracer http://operaweb.web.cern.ch/operaweb/internal/index.shtml

Cristiano Bozza – European Emulsion Scanning Group – Nagoya Jan 2008 10 Conclusions DB for emulsion scanning documentation and support is working Consistent schema set up since years, now just small changes Publication procedures working Brick tracer service set up, integration with data tables to be started
