1 Simple Present Use the simple present for an action is repeated or usual. The action can be a habit, something that happens daily or often, or a scheduled event. Examples: Every Thursday night, we watch The Office on TV. Joey and Jane walk to school.

2 Present Continuous Use the present continuous to stress the continuing nature of an action or activity. Examples: Mike is watching his favorite show on TV. The Smiths are looking for a new house. The present continuous can also refer to a future event, when a day or time is mentioned. Examples: The book fair is opening on Monday. I’m attending college in the fall.

3 Simple Past  An action or a series of actions started and finished in the past.  Example: Susan did her homework and then went to her friend Nancy's house.  A duration that started and finished in the past.  Example: Kim attended Harvard for three years.
