3 Your options?? There are lots of accommodation options at Newcastle and definitely something for everyone. From catered, Castle leazes and Henderson to self catered Ricky road. Depending on were you want to live there are great halls right in the city centre; Victoria, or others just a short bus ride away, Henderson. Castle Leazes and Richardson Road are very popular choices due to their close proximity to uni and the city!!

4 The Union The Newcastle student union has a selection of bars and cafes spread over 3 floors which are frequented by students both day and night. There are a variety of DJ’s, bands and organised events happen weekly. For example Scott Mills DJ, The Hoosiers, Lily Allen and events such as Roller Discos, UV bubble parties and many more. The Union shop provides everything from stamps to lab coats at student friendly prices.

5 City Life There are a range of activities to suit every personality including... Theatre, Galleries, Shopping, Cinema Restaurants and Cafes, Nightclubs and Bars, Museums, Walks along the Quayside with its many bridges.

6 Nightlife Newcastle is known for having one of the best nightlife's in the UK. From its notorious triple bars to jazz bars; there is always something for everyone. Great for students on a budget; Newcastle is very cheap!

7 Escape to the Country There are many opportunities to escape the rush of city life, particularly taking environmental science where we head out to the countryside often! Durham is only 10mins train ride away and a lovely place to take a break.

8 A Trip to the Beach? Tynemouth beach is only a short metro ride away and is a good excuse for some fish and chips! You can also take part in activities such as windsurfing, surfing and canoeing as well as coastal walks.

9 Sport at Newcastle Football Rugby Netball Hockey Basketball Horse riding Swimming – water polo Lacrosse Tennis American Football Cheerleading As well as a state of the art gym which offers a range of dance and exercise classes Inter-mural sports

10 Inter-Mural Sports With Environmental Science being part of the Agricultural Food and Rural Development school. There are lots of social and sport opportunities open to you with the Agric Society. We Play inter-mural: Netball Rugby Hockey.

11 Agrics!! The agric society, a great time for everyone!! The agrics are a crazy bunch, with something fun always going on, - BBQ’s -Balls -Ploughing matches -House parties -Trips away …. Reading, Harper, Skiing. -And of course the legendary Pub crawls …….

12 The Pub Crawls!! Cross dressing... Barbie and action man. Family The pub crawls are great fun and happen every other week, everyone’s welcome, but fancy dress is essential, the crazier the better.

13 Studying at Newcastle. Overall Newcastle as a city has lots to offer. With a great Social life, academic and excellent sporting reputation. Whatever you enjoy, Newcastle has!! Hopefully see you all next year!
