11 11 Add, drop and withdrawal policy zThe business school has the policy for add, drop and withdrawal yIn the first four weeks, you have to get enrolled in the class, if you want yStudents can withdraw only once yPlease read the syllabus for detailed information

12 12 Homework zTo help you understand the concepts covered in class, and prepare for the quizzes and final exam, there will be homework problems. Homework will not be graded, but its solution will be posted on my website. zThe best way to learn new concepts is to do a lot of problems.

13 13 In-Class-Work zThere will be 4 in-class work assignments. zThe schedule of these in-class projects will not be announced in advance, so just come to the lectures.

14 14 Three quizzes and final exam zThe quizzes are closed-book and closed notes. There are no make-ups. You can bring one letter size “info sheet” to the final. zThe tests are based on material covered in lectures, in-class-work, homework, cases, and textbook. Mostly multiple choice questions. z The in-class-work will be relevant for the quizzes; The quizzes will be relevant for the final!

15 15 Two Cases zI will hand out those cases in class. Cases can be done individually or within a group of at most 4 members. A student can switch groups. zCase reports need to be printed. zThe report must submit in the beginning of the lecture in which the case will be discussed.

16 16 Class performance zAny attempt to seek undue favor from the instructor will negatively affect your class performance. zThe instructor cannot assign extra work to any individual to improve her/his grade.

17 17 Grading zClass performance 10 points zQuiz of lowest score 10 zThe other two quizzes 40 zFinal exam 30 zCases 20 zTotal 110points

18 18 No make-ups zThere are no makeup or in-advance exams. zIf you missed one quiz then each quiz will carry 25 point.

19 19 Curve grade A range Top 30% B range Top 80% The instructor reserves the right to make minor adjustment if necessary. The cure might be shifted upward if the whole class is doing well on average.

20 20 Academic integrity zThe instructor has zero tolerance for cheating or looking at each other during the exams. zIn the exams, please sit as far as possible from each other. zIn doing the in-class-work, feel free to discuss with your classmates.

21 21 Communicate with the instructor zTeaching Style: Lectures, problem solving and cases. Please pay attention to what is covered in class. zI appreciate any constructive suggestions (in person or through email) that would improve the course.
