2 CURRENT SENSING RESISTOR HALL EFFECT BASED LINEAR CURRENT SENSOR Vcc+

3 Current Measuring Resistor  Measure the Current through the resistor inline to the destination.  Takes a direct measurement off the inline resistor. Hall Effect Sensor  Also measures current during the path to its destination.  Uses a pre-calibrated controller and sensor that measures magnetic field from the wire carrying the current.

4 CURRENT MEASURING RESISTOR HALL EFFECT SENSOR  Easy to install inline to voltage source.  Can be very cost efficient depending on amount of current and voltage being measured.  Very accurate  Not actually connected to voltage lines therefore less risk of damage.  Good for use with data acquisition systems

5 CURRENT MEASURING RESISTOR HALL EFFECT SENSOR  Can be damaged if wrong currents are applied because it is inline.  Can be less accurate.  Cost  Additional circuitry is needed as opposed to less for an inline resistor.
