4. iBorrow – Client Decisions Use a cheap netbook that: Has small solid state drive and WiFi Long (6 hours +) battery life Is light and portable Minimum of 10 “ screen We chose the ASUS 1000

5. iBorrow – Virtual Desktop Do we use: Terminal Services (cheap, but not that manageable) or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (expensive but more reliable) With either solution would use Microsoft Application Virtualisation (AppV)

6. iBorrow – Desktop Decisions An ideal environment to trial the latest Microsoft Terminal Server technology Use TS 2008 with XP sp3 (utilises RDP 6.1) XP install would be the bare minimum TS2008 application delivery would be via AppV

7. iBorrow- Development Tasks Developed a pc client launch shell along with domain auto-enrolment to enable seamless login to the terminal server. Programmed a TSR program to give users pc battery life over the terminal server session. Virtualised the basic applications (Office 2007, SPSS, Minitab)
