How to Make Delicious Snickerdoodle Cookies
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Grab the following tools needed: An electric mixer Medium bowl Small bowl Two ungreased baking sheets Two cooling racks Wisk Prep: Things to do before you start
2 cups sugar, divided 1 cup Butter Shortening 2 large eggs 2 tablespoons milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour 2 teaspoons cream of tartar 1 teaspoon baking soda 3/4 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon Ingredients: Make sure you have them!
A.In the electronic mixer combine: Only 1 ½ cup sugar of the sugar 1 cup butter shortening 2 large eggs 2 tablespoons of milk 1 teaspoon of vanilla B.Turn the mixer on medium speed Time to Start Step One
A.In the medium bowl combine using wisk: 2 ¾ cups of flour 2 teaspoons cream of tartar 1 teaspoon baking soda ¾ teaspoon salt B.Lower electronic mixer speed to slow C.Slowly add the mixture into the electronic mixer Step Two
A.In the small cowl whisk to combine: Remaining ½ cup sugar 2 teaspoons of sugar B.Set this bowl aside C.Stop electronic mixer Step Three
Shape 1 inch balls from the dough in electronic mixer Then roll the dough in sugar from the small bowl Place dough balls on cookie sheets 2 inches apart Place into the preheated oven Step Four
Bake for 7 to 8 minutes Take cookies out and let sit for 2 minutes Then place cookies on cooling sheets Let cookies cool completely (5- 10 minutes) Step Five
Add frosting on top for extra sweet cookies when cooled Add 5 drops food coloring into shortening mix for colored cookies (step 1) Two Possible Variations
