Collaboration Status Acquisition Goal: Provide collaboration solution to DoD enterprise via commercial managed service providers First Button – IBM Lotus Sametime NIPRNet / SIPRNet Limited Operational Availability (LOA) Granted to 100k Users Second Button – Awarded to Carahsoft Web Conferencing: Adobe Connect 6 Professional IM/Chat: Jabber Extensible Comms Platform (XCP) Early User Testing (EUT): November 2007 One year contract w/ two one year extensions Second Button – capabilities similar to ‘Button One’, plus require XMPP IM Chat. Carahsoft is a reseller who is offering Adobe Connect Professional for web conferencing and Jabber XCP for IM/Chat. Carahsoft has partnered with a number of companies for this effort - partners include SRA, who is currently running the SIPR-Chat pilot using Jabber XCP. 6 DKO Key Facts/Dates Jan 2007 – Joint Unsponsored Accounts on DKO (NIPRNET) and ability to create sites made available to all DOL users 15 Apr 2007 – Ability to create new sites/workspaces on DOL (NIPRNET) was shut down 2 Aug 2007 – Planned availability of Joint Accounts on AKO/DKO SIPRNET; specific migration dates for DOL-SIPRNET will follow (primarily impacts STRATCOM) 1 Oct 2007 – New user registration on DOL will be shut off 1 Oct 2007 – Ability to post new content to existing DOL sites/workspaces will be shut off 31 Dec 2007 – Target date for total shutdown of DOL and DOL-S Migration of content to DKO is a site/workspace administrator responsibility, but we can help facilitate with training and possibly some tools – call us to assist with workspace migration! 10 Defense Knowledge Online (DKO) Vision
Develop an adaptive and agile Enterprise portal for the DOD community that utilizes current and future net-centric technology to enable a framework that empowers knowledge dominance, ensures synchronization of resources, and aggressively enables situational awareness and operational security in support of the Warfighter. Current Players: Army DISA Marine Corps Joint Forces Command Director of National Intelligence Navy Air Force BTA/BMA DOD CIO The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and the United States Army Chief Information Office (G6/CIO) are leading an effort to create a single portal for all of DoD called Defense Knowledge Online (DKO).
