3 What is Lifeline? Blood and Stem Cell Society Student-based group at UTM Started last year, Summer 2010 Dedicated to raising awareness about need for blood and stem cells Encouraging students and their families to become life-long donors Facilitating clinics, fundraising

4 FAQs Member expectations and commitments What do members do exactly? Why the $2 membership fee? – Larger scale events Member versus volunteer status – Benefits such as discounts, hour tracking, volunteer recognition and certification

19 Carnival Fundraiser Over several days of October/November Fundraiser for CBS Carnival-style games – Pop a balloon – Ring toss – Spin-a-wheel/trivia Prizes!

20 Recipient Speech Date tentative Probably sometime between October 17-21 Past blood and stem cell recipients come to campus to talk about their experiences CBS will also have a powerpoint presentation, Q&A session

21 Blood Clinic and Get Swabbed! Tuesday October 25th Blood Clinic: 10am-5pm Get Swabbed! : 10am-10pm On-campus blood donation, registering onto OneMatch stem cell network Was our biggest event last year Lots of volunteers needed!

23 Tasks: Continued Event Promotion – Posters – Prelecture Announcements – Infobooths Volunteering – Directing students to event locations – Giving out pamphlets – “Get Swabbed!” stem cell registration

24 Member Feedback What are good dates for events/meetings? How to get members and campus aware of events? Good advertising techniques? What events would you like to see? Should we have fundraiser Oct or Nov? (consider midterms) Do you want regular updates on financials?
