Sacrifice pleasure for opportunity Balance your life: family, friends, school tasks and projects, and studying for exams. Exercise and sleep are important too.

To move information from your short term memory into your long term memory you need to cover it 4 times and within 28 hours of each session. Research: ideal study sessions are minutes long with a break. To move information from short to long term memory it needs to be visited 4 times.

14 Have a term plan Just like you need a Time Schedule you also need a Term/Semester Plan In a Term Plan, you utilize monthly calendars (slide 14) to record all important dates Academics: tests, assignments, papers and projects for all of your courses Co-Curricular Activities: meetings, weekends away, and special events Personal: friends and family birthdays, events and workshops you want to attend

15 When is the best time for you to study? KNOW YOURSELF:
Plan to action your study process When do you exercise? When do you spend time with friends? BE SPECIFIC in your task allocation SLEEP & EAT!!! Be willing at any given time to sacrifice pleasure for opportunity Revisit your goals Be the best that you can be Attack your challenges with enthusiasm How much are you worth? Do you believe you deserve to be a CA?

18 Identify time wasters Friends: be assertive say ‘no’, ‘not now’
Whatsapp/Facebook: remove notifications TV: watch your favourite show then SWITCH OFF Fill in your time wasters on the handout… share? Give your time wasters time so that you can focus on what needs to be done now.
