2 Extraordinary If you describe something or someone as extraordinary … it means that they are unusual or very special e.g. It is extraordinary to live to 110 years of age.

3 Is this extraordinary … Is a cat with three kittens extraordinary? Is a child who can speak 14 different languages extraordinary? Is a man who can run 100 metres in under 9 seconds extraordinary?

4 Is a man who can run fast extraordinary???

6 Is Lady Gaga’s dress extraordinary?

7 committed If you are committed to something, you keep doing it. If you are committed, you do not give up or stop. If you are committed, you are determined to succeed in something.

8 Is this person committed? Yes? What is he committed to? He is committed to his team He is committed to his training! He is committed to winning!

9 Is a person trying to swim across the English Channel committed?

10 Is this person committed ???

11 What is this man committed to?

12 His name is Usain Bolt … … and he is committed to: 1.Training hard 2.Succeeding in his sport 3.Representing his country 4.Being the fastest man in the world!

13 What are you committed to? Your family? Your football team? Doing well at school?

14 Excessive Excessive means ‘too much” If you describe something as excessive, you disapprove … because it is too much!

15 Is this excessive? … Is the volume of the music coming through the headphones excessive??? (How can you tell?)
