5 School Hours LATE START WEDNESDAY- ALL schools start 30 minutes later on Wednesday to allow for professional development for teachers without extending the school year. 6 Attendance Policy Attendance & Breakfast Waynesville R-VI students are only allowed to miss 5 (five) days each semester. This policy is necessary due to the attendance requirements for accreditation established by the State of Missouri. In addition, breakfast is served to all students in grades K-8 except at Thayer Elementary.

9 7 Habits These 7 habits are based on the highly acclaimed book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. East Elementary (K-2) has infused ideas from this book along with concepts from the program The Leader In Me into their model for helping new students transitioning into the school. Their approach not only helps new students adjust, but also builds anti- bullying skills.

10 The 6 th Grade Center has adopted a student led, student focused model for their 75 minute weekly leadership class. 11 WMDS- Academic Teams Academics Students at the Waynesville Middle School are assigned to academic teams for the four core areas. This aids in creating consistency for students as teams coordinate lesson plans.  Language Arts  Math  Social Studies  Science Weekly lessons plans are made available for parents or students and are located outside the main office

12  Maintain a 95% attendance record overall for grades 9-12  Provide 50 hours of unpaid tutoring or mentoring  Graduate with an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher  Attend a designated A+ high school for 3 consecutive years immediately prior to graduation. 14 Academics I-STEM 21 Focused Learning- I-STEM 21 stands for Intergrading Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics with 21 st Century Skills. WHS has added Project Lead the Way. Literacy is a primary focus for the entire school district, including promoting the love of reading.

17 Club Tiger After School Program WMDS and WHS 2:35-5:30pm Monday-Friday Fees are based on student lunch status and paid Monthly: Full Price: $25 Reduced Price: $15 Free Price: $10 Scholarships are available Club TIGER will NOT be in session on half days, holidays, or days when the district is closed due to inclement weather. 19 Sports passes are available for purchase in the Athletic Office for admission into school athletic events. The individual pass allows the holder to be admitted to all home contests during the term of the pass. The family pass allows the holder and his/her immediate family to be admitted to all home contests during the term of the pass. School employee passes and family/individual passes will not be accepted at district or other state level contests. The cost of the passes are as follows: Individual Season Pass $15.00 Individual Annual Pass $35.00 Family Season Pass $30.00 Family Annual Pass $70.00 SPORTS PASSES
