6  Insure good contrast  Use Sans-serif: Arial, Veranda, Tahoma…  Use large text  Do not use color as the only way to convey content. 6

9  Make sure you use a unique title for each slide.  Can number if similar (Title Text 1, Title Text 2 and so on.)  “Invisible” titles also work for screen readers. 9

10  For all images which add meaning  Just leave decorative text blank  Meaningful description of what you see.  Do not use the presenter notes area for alternative text. 10

20 20  Do not use the “Save As Web Page” option.  Does not create accessible HTML content!  Don’t use it.

21 21  Accessibility Checker!  To run the accessibility checker:  File  Info  Check for Issues  Check Accessibility

22 22  Text only – select “save as” and then choose the “Outline/RTF”  I add the alternative text to the text only version.  Add the url information for any hyperlinks.

23 23  Save presentation as PowerPoint 97 – 2003 or.ppt  Export to PDF and provide a.pdf version  Also provide an outline version as a “Rich Text Format” or.rtf
