2 www.europeanschoolnet.org - www.eun.org ENABLE European Network Against Bullying in Learning and Leisure Environments tackles online behavioural issues for 11-14 year olds in a holistic approach based on improved development of social and emotional literacy (SEL) skills desktop research on anti-bullying approaches to detect what does and doesn’t work, to showcase good practice creation of SEL resources for schools and families roll-out of SEL resources and strategies through peer mentoring on a cascade model guidance throughout the project by the international Think Tank.

6 www.europeanschoolnet.org - www.eun.org PHASE 1 - RESEARCH Responsible Partner: For Adolescent Health (Greece) GOALS: –research bullying, including its prevalence, risk factors and consequences; –scope impactful actions designed to influence educational policy and practice. OUTCOMES: –Repertory of anti-bullying approaches, risk factors and consequences; overview of national contexts; –Meeting in Athens in March back-to-back with international congress of adolescent medicine practitioners

7 www.europeanschoolnet.org - www.eun.org PHASE 2 – RESOURCE-BUILDING Responsible Partner: South West Grid for Learning (UK) GOALS: –develop methods for building greater empathy (social and emotional learning - SEL), improving self-esteem of young people; –develop innovative digital tools for youth, teachers and families to reduce the frequency and impact of bullying incidents –lead youth to reflect on the bullying process to build their own tools OUTCOMES: –ready-to-use toolkits for peer ambassadors, teachers and families –EU-wide hackathon during October Coding week

8 www.europeanschoolnet.org - www.eun.org PHASE 3 – PEER MENTORING TRAINING Responsible Partner : Diana Award (UK) GOALS: –provide support and easy access to resources for teachers, students, parents, and helplines; –train teachers, pupils and parents, building on the findings from the first phases of the project, using a cascade model to multiply reach and impetus. OUTCOMES: –replicable cascade training model for peer ambassadors, teachers and families with built-on quality control strategies –Broad reach through education ministries and European school networks

9 www.europeanschoolnet.org - www.eun.org PROJECT SCOPE ENABLE will be implemented in a half dozen countries across Europe; ENABLE will be rolled out to 6,000 young people ages 11-14 years, 2,000 parents and at least 30 schools per country.

10 www.europeanschoolnet.org - www.eun.org PROJECT GOALS ENABLE aims to develop social and emotional learning skills as a means of building resilience in young people so that they can better understand and become more responsible and effective for their on- and offline social interactions.

11 www.europeanschoolnet.org - www.eun.org INTERNATIONAL THINK TANK 7 Permanent Members and 3 Guests Think Tank will act both as an advisory body and as an ambassador to the project; Think Tank will promote the work done within ENABLE; Think Tank members’ well-known status will reinforce the credibility of the project whilst also raising public awareness of it.

12 www.europeanschoolnet.org - www.eun.org INTERNATIONAL THINK TANK Each online meeting will include peer review of research or approaches put forward by the 3 guests, ensuring that : 1.the project builds a comprehensive compendium of data sheets on tested anti-bullying approaches; 2.the project is shaped by emerging research.
