Built-in-Place Systems 1 System is built up and hand-planted on the day of install, leaving soil exposed for weed intrusion.

Built-in-Place Systems 2 Potentially can grow into a mature green roof. Time required to achieve full coverage depends upon level of maintenance. Deciduous plants leave soil exposed during dormancy.

Carpet Systems 3 A light weight system made up of layers of felt-like material and a top spun plastic or coco-fiber layer. Usually only one to two inches of soil. Modest front end cost, comes pre-vegetated with limited species. Low soil volume often does not support the plant material.

Sod & Tile Systems Sod & Tile Systems 4 Similar to Carpet Systems, but typically installed over built-in-place green roofs. Systems are not wind resistant or drought tolerant until their roots grow into the growing medium. Tile systems typically generate excessive trash from packaging. 6 weeks since planting with regular irrigation, and these Sedum tiles still have not begun rooting into the soil below.

Traditional Modular Systems 5 Plastic or Metal trays for easy access to roof. Delivered pre-planted or pre-grown to the jobsite.

Traditional Modular Systems 6 Visible modules detracted from aesthetic appeal. Modules typically cannot be custom cut to cover entire membrane, detracting from the extension of roof life. Module design does not promote healthy plant growth, and coverage is disrupted by the “edge effect”.

System Function 7 Traditional Modular Systems Have Exposed Edges NO SOIL CONNECTIVITY Poor Aesthetic Vulnerable to UV Rays Lower R Values Increased Maintenance Costs

Knock-offs 8 Traditional Trays with Coco-fiber liners Unsightly May Take Years to Degrade Wicks Moisture from the Plants Reduced Soil Volume Warranty ?

LiveRoof Process 9 First; the grower inserts the LiveRoof® Soil Elevator™ into LiveRoof® module. LiveRoof® Plants are grown to maturity under care of professional growers. LiveRoof® module is filled with LiveRoof® engineered growing medium. Installer sets LiveRoof® modules tightly in place on the roof. LiveRoof® Soil Elevator™ is removed for a beautiful, seamless instantly mature green roof. Water to settle growing medium and to get your LiveRoof® off to a great start.

System Function 10 Natural Function, Natural Beauty Hybrid System Combines the benefits of modular, plant in place, and carpet green roof systems. Roots & Water are shared between modules, making the system more drought resistant.

System Function 11 High Quality Soil Meets or Exceeds German FLL Standards Works incredibly well with minimal shrinkage and great fertility. Module side walls are not angled, thus holding more soil than other systems, this increases the system’s ability to hold storm water and the R Value.

System Function 12 Superior Plants Grown using organic and biologically focused production methods at our MAEAP Verified Farm. Bio Controls & Banker Plants Grown from cuttings instead of plugs Plant mixes can be formulated in almost any color scheme, height, or bloom time
