1 Degree and Graduation Seminar Scope Management

2 Scope Management Process
The scope management process is the process of defining what work is required and then making sure all of that work and only that work is done.

3 Scope Baseline The scope baseline is the agreed-upon:
project scope statement, WBS, WBS dictionary.

4 Requirements Documentation
Requirements documentation refers to the documentation where the product requirements are recorded during the collect requirements process.

5 Requirements Traceability Matrix
The requirements traceability matrix helps track the requirements over the life of the project to ensure they are accomplished.

6 Requirements Management Plan
The requirements management plan describes how requirements should be identified, analyzed, prioritized, managed, as well as how their changes are to be tracked.

7 Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
The work breakdown structure (WBS) is a deliverable-oriented hierarchical breakdown of the work to be executed by the project team to meet project objectives and create the required deliverables.

8 Scope Management Plan The scope management plan describes how the project scope will be planned, executed and controlled.

9 Project Scope Statement
The project scope statement is a detailed description of the project’s deliverables and the work required to create those deliverables. It also provides a common understanding of the project scope among project stakeholders.

10 Work Package Work packages are the smaller and more manageable pieces of work into which the project is broken down in the WBS, for which cost and activity durations can be reliably estimated and managed.

11 Activity An activity is each of the specific actions to be performed to produce the project deliverables.

12 Breakdown Breakdown is the subdivision of project deliverables into smaller, more manageable components, making it possible to define the work and deliverables at the work package level.

13 WBS Dictionary The WBS dictionary is a document that supports the WBS and provides more detailed descriptions of the components in the WBS, including work packages and control accounts.

14 Product Scope The product scope is the set of features and functions that characterize a product, service, or result.

15 Project Scope The project scope is the work that needs to be accomplished to deliver a product, service, or result, with the specified features and functions.

16 Constraint A constraint is a factor that limits the team’s options, such as limits on resources, budget, schedule and scope.

17 Assumption An assumption is something that is assumed to be true but that may or may not be true.

18 Control Account A control account is a management control point where scope, budget, actual cost, and schedule are integrated and compared to earned value for performance measurement.

19 Product Analysis Product analysis is the process of analyzing the objectives and description of the product, stated by the customer or sponsor, and turning them into tangible deliverables.

20 Validated Deliverable
A validated deliverable is a project deliverable that has been determined correct, as a result of the quality control processes. This validation is then used as input, to verify scope, for formalized acceptance.

21 Requirements Gathering Techniques
Requirements gathering techniques are techniques that help in identifying all requirements, before work starts on a project, including: interviewing, brainstorming, focus groups, facilitated workshops, etc.
