4. 44 Software Design  Industrial Placement students - typically  Training lasts 12 months  Two, six month placements – software design and software verification  Graduates - typically  Training lasts up to 24 months  First six months in software design  Followed by three, four month placements – Possible placements in systems design, systems verification, safety, SQA, project management, OS systems design, manufacturing (electronic or hydro-mechanical), slave controls, capability team – Must have one placement in software verification  Final six months placement back in software design
