Components of Eureka M.P.I. Please collect following tools:- Fixed / Ring Spanners - 8/9, 10/11 & 12/13 mm. Pliers. Screwdrivers + & - Tip. Sharp Knife. Insulation Tape. Ignition Timing Light for Ignition Timing Setting. Tach-Dwell Meter for R.P.M. Setting M.P.I. Coils Ignition Module Brackets Pulser Coil Plate Reluctor

Important !! It is presumed that condition of distributor is O.K. 1) There is no sideways( )play on the distributor shaft. 2) Vacuum & Centrifugal Advancers are working fine. 3) Delco Plate has no friction. 4) Diaphragm of Vacuum Advancer is not damaged. Clean, Lubricate or Replace faulty components to restore normal function.

Wire Codes Red – 12 Volts Supply from Ignition Switch. Gray or Blue – For L.P.G. Kit impulse or R.P.M. meter Input. Red + Brown with Connector – To Coil over Spark Plug. Yellow & Blue - Pulser Coil to Ignition Module Plate. Turn the engine to align Ignition Timing Mark punched on Flywheel or Pulley (Fig.1) with fixed reference Mark. Bring the rotor face-to-face with No.1 Spark Plug (Fig.2) and remove the distributor. Dismantle C.B.Point Base Plate after removing 2 Screws as shown in (Fig.3). Install the Pulser Coil Plate supplied with the kit after passing the Yellow & Blue wires through the hole in distributor body. Use the Cable Tie to bunch Yellow + Blue wires within the distributor allowing sufficient slack for Base Plate movement. Make sure that the pin under the base plate is properly engaged in Vacuum Advancer Lever. Cylinder No.1 Fig. 1 Fig. 2 Fig. 3

Fit the Magnetic Reluctor on the Distributor Shaft and maintain a gap of 0.8 to 1 mm between magnet face and pulser coil. Check the gap on each pulser coil. Apply few drops of glue to Magnetic Reluctor and distributor shaft. Fit the distributor 0n engine keeping the Magnetic Reluctor Centre to Centre over Pulser Coil No.1. Fit the Spark Plugs provided in the kit and M.P.I. Coils number wise on each Spark Plug (Cyl. No.1 starts from the engine pulley). Fit the brackets on Tappet Cover (refer photo) to secure the M.P.I. Coils. Fit the Ignitor Plate in place of Ignition Coil using the main bolt + sheet metal screw for a firm earth connection. Connect M.P.I. Coils & Pulser Coils number wise and complete the wiring. In case of LPG fitted car, use the Gray/Blue wire for impulse. These wires can also be used for connecting R.P.M. meter.

Start the engine to adjust the ignition timing by moving distributor in clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. Certain Timing Lights may not function with M.P.I. System. Connect a Spark Plug Cord Wire between the plug and M.P.I. Coil for Cylinder No.1. Attach the hook up of Ignition Timing Light to this Spark Plug Cord Wire and use timing light for Ignition Timing adjustment. Once done, remove Spark Plug Cord Wire and fit back the M.P.I. Coil. Fit the distributor cap as dust cap.
