The Early Church! A Movement of Disciples! The Early Church! A Movement of Disciples! See Book of Acts Chapter 1  “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8 disciples  “And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. Acts 1:13 (all of them disciples!) disciples  “And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty) Acts 1:15

Disciples The first Christians were all Disciples!  “And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.” Acts 6:1  “Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.” Acts 6:2  “And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. Acts 6:7  “And the disciples were called ‘Christians’ first in Antioch.”  “And the disciples were called ‘Christians’ first in Antioch.” Acts 11:26

Ecclessia DAILY, at HOME! Acts Chapter 2 First disciples didn’t GO to Church on Sunday! They WERE the church (Ecclessia) DAILY, at HOME! Acts Chapter 2 Acts 2:1  “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the HOUSE where they were sitting.” Acts 2:1  “And DAILY in the temple, and in every HOUSE, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” Acts 5:42

Acts Chapter 2:44-46 The Family basically operates like the First Christians, the Early Church, Ecclesia! Acts Chapter 2:44-46  “And ALL that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And sold their possessions & goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.”  “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”  The Church, (the Ecclesia) worked together & lived together in houses & shared all things! Just as we do today.Christian “Communists”!

Acts Chapter 2 The Temple was not a Church, but Jerusalem’s City Square & Market! Acts Chapter 2  46 “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple,... And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.  The Disciples went to the Temple to witness, because most of the people gathered there for business and to buy things.  The disciples didn’t go there for “church services” but to SERVE Jesus! Ha!

True Church (Ecclessia) = the Body of Believers!  “For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office. So we, being many, are one body in Christ & every one members one of another.” Rom. 12:4,5  “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” 1 Corinthians 12:13-28  “And HE is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the first- born from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence.” Col 1:18,24. The body of believers = the Body of Christ!  “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ  “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:5  All believers in Christ are priests of God!

The Early Church met in houses & homes.  Romans 16:5 “Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my well beloved Epaenetus, who is the first fruits of Achaia unto Christ.  1 Corinthians 16:19 “The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.”  Colossians 4:15 “Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.”  Philemon 1:2 “And to our beloved Apphia and Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in thy house.”

Does God Live in Church Buildings?  “But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I [Solomon] have built? 1 Kings 8:27  “Thus says the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? And where is the place of my rest?” Isaiah 66:1  “For Israel has forgotten his Maker, and builds temples” Hosea 8:14  “Howbeit the most High dwells not in temples made with hands; as says the prophet” Acts 7:48

Quotes on Churchianity vs. Christianity  Going to a church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you a car.  God put the Church in the World; Satan seeks to put the World in the Church.  Christianity has been so watered down until the solution is so weak, that if it were poison it would not hurt anyone and if it were medicine it would not cure anyone!  The great sin of the church is that she withholds the Gospel from herself and from the World.  That this World is a playground instead of a battlefield has now been accepted in practice by the vast majority of fundamentalist Christians.  Man must and will have some religion. If he has not the religion of Jesus, he will have the religion of Satan.  A religion that costs nothing, does nothing.

Quotes on Churchianity vs. Christianity  The World has founded whole orders, monasteries, brotherhoods, convents and nunneries on the principle that the more solemn and sad you are and the more you suffer, the more religious you are. This is a religion of the Devil, not of the Lord! This is a system of Satan, not Christ!  The greatest and worst sin of all sins is the hypocrisy and the self-righteous- ness and the false front of the so-called Christians and most church people.  Building church buildings has damned more souls to Hell than any other activity of the Church, because it has robbed the mission fields of millions of dollars and millions of missionaries. Going to church makes Christians satisfied and contented and feeling like they have accomplished their purpose in staying at home and sitting in church instead of going out to preach the GOSPEL!
