10 Super PASS II Training Program Temperature Sensing Option Unit is equipped with option –side and alarm buttons are RED –serial number ends in an H Temperature alarm should not be used as an absolute measure of temperatures –alarm may sound earlier or later –depends on where worn and environmental conditions

11 Super PASS II Training Program Temperature Sensing When temperature thermostat limits have been exceeded –Temperature Alarm Sounds a rapid chirping tone –LED display slow pulsing four red LEDs Unit must cool down below temp. limits before unit will reset –alarm cannot be turned off

14 Super PASS II Training Program Operating Instructions Always test unit prior to use. Remove accountability tag to active –“Sensing Mode” Operational signal sound –Audible and Visual –Visual continues indicating the unit is in the “Sensing Mode”

15 Super PASS II Training Program Pre-Alert Signal Activates if motionless 18-23 seconds Four Red L.E.D.s begin pulsing Progressively louder sweeping pre- alert signal becomes louder Signifies that unit is closer to Alarm Signal

22 Super PASS II Training Program Low Battery Alarm Sounds has 20% capacity remaining –approximate 1 hour operating time Immediate replacement when alarm sounds is necessary Low Battery Alarm signal –audible alarm –series of three audible beep tones every five seconds

24 Super PASS II Training Program Limitations Units meet NFPA 1982 Designed for use in –rescue situations –fire fighting operations –other hazardous duties Not guaranteed against –excessive abuse –lack of training –lack of maintenance

25 Super PASS II Training Program Maintenance Minimum maintenance required –will provide years of service Clean unit with a damp cloth & warm water –after each use –DO NOT use cleaning solvents Inspect for signs of physical damage

26 Super PASS II Training Program Maintenance (con’t) Unit storage –dry, well-ventilated area –recommended 50º F to 77º F 65 % humidity (max.) Decon unit if exposed to chemicals –discard if unable to properly decon Do Not mark or apply paint to case Replace battery every 6 months
