2. Tribes in plain area
The crow were nomads who moved place to place following herds of buffalo.
The Blackfoot believed in the Old Man.
The Cheyenne lived in the Western part of the Plains called the Great Plains

3. Plains Location, Climate, and Natural Resources
The plain Indians lived on the Interior Plains between the Mississippi River and Rocky mountains.
Buffalo was the most important natural resource it was used as tools, blankets, warm clothing, and moccasins.
The plains were very flat, windy, and very dry for miles and miles.
Depending on the season Blizzards, tornadoes, droughts, and floods can occur.
The Plains are vast open lands with no mountains for miles.

4. The plains Cultures
The Plains had many different tribes but they over all had the same ceremonies
The Blackfoot tribe believed that they were created by a sprit called the Old Man.
One of the most important ceremonies was each year. Each year they would give thanks for the corn harvest.
Every time that there was a buffalo hunt they would have a ceremony before and after the hunt.
Ceremonies were also put in place for the naming of a baby or a marriage
During Summer most of the Plains Indians Performed a Sun Dance Ceremony

5. FOOD The plain Indians hunted buffalo and deer elk
They collected roots berries and grass
They farmed beans, squash, and corn
They ate meat raw ,cooked mixed with fat And berries to make pemmican and dried that could be stored for months
The native Americans' used buffalo bone to make spears and other tooles

6. Shelter For the Plain Indians
Lodges
In one Plain Indian’s lodge they could fit 60 people. The lodges are made of buffalo skin. They are easily so they can take it apart easily. When it was hot the flaps on the lodges were opened for air to come in. The poles are put into a circle and then the buffalo skin is tied to the poles, but a hole is left on the top. Dogs help carry skin on a travois made by two wooden poles.
