Challenges driving APCC implementation Two weeks of manual data collection for monthly planning reports Many data definitions and calculations for the same published metric Use of Excel for storing data leading to lack of single source of truth ASCP Horizontal Plan provides only limited visibility and flexibility ASCP does not provide a consolidate view of plan recommendations Limited view into inventory projections leading to excessive inventory Lack of point-in-time data resulting in inability to compare snapshots Limited view of dependent demand which drives MRP output Difficulty comparing revisions to the same period in forecast, over time Challenge consolidating disparate data to derive Forecast Accuracy

Realized & Expected Future Benefits Realized Benefits: Single source of truth for both localized and global planning data 24x7 access to KPIs, summary, and drilldown reporting via web Reports enabling all-inclusive, flexible views of horizontal plan Federated reports using transactional and planning system data Enabled KPI creation of Months on Hand (MOH) of inventory Expected Future Benefits: Increase in overall planning data visibility leading to: Optimized planning strategy to supply forecasted demand Optimized target Inventory levels and MOH requirements Decreases in expired inventory Increased effectiveness of plan review meetings Compare historical plans to current plan to monitor effectiveness Improvement in visibility into Master Production Schedule (MPS)

Lessons Learned Distinguish “Make” from “Buy” orgs to eliminate double counting of Planned Production Order and Planned Material Transfer Differences in planning periods (Calendars) can cause significant data mismatches between Forecasting system and ASCP. Example: Monthly buckets in Forecasting System and 4-4-5 buckets in ASCP Inaccurate or limited use and/or maintenance of ASCP plans causes APCC output to be misstated, and makes root cause analysis difficult. If you plan to use APCC, ensure your ASCP environment is being fully utilized and all plans are being appropriately managed. Master Data Setup – Item Categories, Calendar, UOM conversions, etc have a huge impact on APCC output and aggregation calculations. It is important to find commonality within the master data to allow for desired aggregate and consolidated reporting Schedule the runs of the EBS data collection and Archive Plan Summary programs It may be good practice to implement APCC in phases, where phase 1 is core reporting which seems to be the biggest “bang for the buck”. Then additional phases can follow based on need, including: Scenarios, Activities, etc

Overview and Justification of Developed Extensions Integrated Oracle BI Apps with APCC for measuring Forecast Accuracy Reason: Shipped Sales Orders don’t get collected into ASCP Benefit: Invoiced Sales in Oracle BI Apps helped derive Forecast Accuracy Customized APCC to be able to view quantities in user selected UOM Reason: Different items may have different standard UOMs Benefit: Ability to get consolidated view of all items in a Product Family Modeled MSC_ORDERS_V (Combination of MSC_SUPPLIES and MSC_DEMANDS) into APCC Reason: Plan archive may have time lag in comparison to Current data Benefit: Enabled Real time view of the plan data
