 Do you have an old Cemetery and are not sure what to do with it? I CAN HELP! Follow along with my presentation and let me know if I can help.

 Hello, Let me introduce myself, my name is David Carter. I have lived in the lakes area for over 10 years. My kids go to the Walled Lake Schools and play sports. About 9 months ago I decided I could make a difference in the community, I have a love for history and cemeteries. So let me tell you what I can do and why? Lets Begin

 “As members of society, it is our responsibility to care for these respected burial grounds, show me your burial grounds and I will show you a measure of the civility of a community. Accepting this responsibility will help to preserve a resource that will benefit not only us, but future generations” - Benjamin Franklin

 I preserve cemeteries, and my goal is to restore it as close to original as possible. New methods that I learned from Indiana in the last year will allow me to accomplish that goal. Many cemeteries are in need of restoration, that is why restoration is becoming so popular all over the country, people spent a lot of money for their monuments and some even mortgaged their farms. Now I will tell you why.

 New profession for me, and a sense of accomplishment, the cemetery is a cultural resource, everyone will see the history of the community, restoration prevents the appearance of abandonment.  Field trips and walking tours can spark interest in preservation, art, and folklore.
