2 Email, Chat Rooms, & IM What do you do if someone sends you an email, an IM (instant message) or says something in a chat room that makes you feel uncomfortable?

3 Language What should you do if someone uses inappropriate language in a chat room, an email, or an IM?

4 Feelings What should you do if someone writes something that is meant to hurt someone else ’ s feelings?

5 Web ’ s Golden Rule Remember the web ’ s golden rule: “ Remember, there is a person there. ” Emails, comments in chat rooms, and instant messages are read by real people with real feelings.

9 Meeting What if a stranger asks to meet you in person? What should you do?
