Since 2001, when Accenture started their Outsourcing operations in Mauritius, Accenture has recruited a significant number of student from the different Universities and schools The pattern we found during these 5-6 years of operations was a skill gap between the academic curriculum and the industry requirements, especially in the off-shore context. Experience shows that this gap can be bridged with an extra 2-3 months training on both technical and non-technical skills in order for the new joiners to be operationally fit. Based on our findings and from discussions with UOM management and the Empowerment Program, Accenture and the University have agreed to develop an extended program called “Accenture IT Professional Certification” which will take the official shape of a UOM/Accenture co-branded Post Graduate Certificate. (*) or other related field

This program will happen in two phases Accenture IT Professional Certification: General Principles Quality and Test « Test Driven Development » Basic + Advanced Java SAP Oracle Communication Traineeship 5-Week full time training 3 Months placement at Accenture (Paid as full time employee) Sponsorship of the Empowerment Program

This program is opened to any post BSc graduate with an interest to participate. –The program in presented under three technology tracks to choose from (only one executed for the pilot session) –Each track also includes common modules related to Software Quality and General Communication skills –Each module will be subject to a final exam. –This program will issue a University PG certificate for the student who pass all the exams of the program. Position Accenture as an active contributor to the development of the ICT market in Mauritius committed to the long term development of the business in the country: –Increase manpower availability, and facilitate business development –Reduce poaching practices –Slow down the wage inflation Accenture contribution and objectives
