Introduction MEDIU was established by a group of renowned Muslim scholars who wanted to provide contemporary Muslims with modern yet suitable educational tools that would prepare them for the harsh reality of living in the Muslim world today - a world that is desperately plagued by war, prejudice, poverty, injustice and illiteracy. By facilitating e-learning, MEDIU can be easily accessed by students from all corners of the world at any time or place of their own choosing. MEDIU was named after Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, the holy and blessed city where Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) established the capital of the first Islamic state. MEDIU obtained approval as a university from the Ministry of Higher Education (“MOHE”) in Malaysia on December 26, 2006 and subsequently was registered on June 20, 2007 (KPT/JPS/DFT/ US/B22).

4. History MEDIU was founded at Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Early 2004 MEDIU’s establishment Team & founders visited Malaysia ( the Primer minister, Ministry of higher education Malaysia, and few government and educational institutes. 2005 Formation of Al-Madinah International (Malaysia) SDN BHD, ROC no: 710353-PSeptember 2005 Visit by a delegation from the Malaysian government, the Ministry of Higher Education and LAN to MEDIU’s founders office in Saudi Arabia. March 2006. Al-Madinah International (Malaysia) SDN BHD received an invitation from the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia to establish the University in Malaysia. July 2006 MEDIU became fully licensed and registered by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, and established its headquarters in Section 9 Shah Alam, Selangor. July 2007 MEDIU became fully operational and received it first batch of students.February 2008 MEDIU offers more than 17 approved programs and enrolled more that 1,500 students from various countries, and received over 4,000 applications for admission. To preserve values and ideals by way of higher education and academic research. To create a comprehensive and integrated academic environment in the field of education and research. To contribute to the advancement of higher education with its various branches and specializations and offer programms, opportunities to study and innovative services that are comprehensive and of the highest quality. To produce graduates with a high level of knowledge, technological capabilities, and competitive skills that will be contributors to society.
