1 Managing GobiAlerts Ashley Bailey Collection Development Manager YBP Library Services abailey@ybp.com

2 GobiAlert Email Each Monday morning the Selector will receive an Alert email from donotreply@ybp.com that includes a link to the week’s slips. Click on the ‘clicking this link’ to be taken to the Alert.donotreply@ybp.com

3 Once the link is clicked, the selector will be automatically taken to the slip view without having to log in

4 When in the slip view the Selector has the ability to: Email the List Save to a Disk Print Sort and Filter the List Remove Titles from their List Make Recommendations Review Past Lists

5 Emailing the List To Email the list, mark the titles you want to Email (or click ‘Mark All’) and then click ‘Email’ on the left side of the screen. Add the person’s contact information that it will be sent to, put in a message, and click Email at the bottom of the popover screen.

7 Saving to Disk Mark the titles you want to save to a disk (Or use ‘Mark All’) and then click ‘Save to Disk’ on the left tool bar. Choose tab delimited and then save to your desktop, or you can choose to save in a PDF file. If you want tab delimited, just open the file and export it into Excel.

8 Printing Your List: To print the list, mark the titles you want to print and click Print on the left side of the screen. When the popover comes up choose how many titles you want per page.

9 Sorting the List: To sort the list, click on ‘Sort’ on the left hand side. The following popover will appear and you can sort and secondary sort by any of the bold features in the GOBI record. Hit ‘Ok’ when finished and your list will sort.

10 Filtering the List: The filter function is located toward the top of the GOBI page

11 When you click on this you can choose to filter one way or another (i.e. Cloth only or Exclude Cloth). You can apply multiple filters at once. To remove a filter simple click ‘Removed Applied Filters’ or ‘Removed Last Filter’.

12 Removing Titles from a List: Mark the title(s) you want to remove and then click X ‘Remove’ on the left of the screen

13 You will be taken to this popover where you will click ‘okay’ if you do want to remove it. If it was an accidental removal, click ‘cancel’

14 Making a Recommendation Mark the titles you want to recommend by click on the left side of the record where the hand appears Click ‘Recommend’ on the left side of the screen The title will show as THIS TITLE HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED If you recommend a title you want to retract, just send an email to the acquisitions staff or person picking up the recommendations so she/he will know not to order it.

16 Viewing Past GobiAlerts To view past GobiAlerts, click on ‘Notification List’ on the left side of the list of titles This will take you into week’s past. These will stayed cued for up to a year unless you go in and delete them

18 All GobiAlerts sent to your name and email address will show up in this list To access a past list, click on the button beside the Notification Name and then hit ‘View’ on the left side of the screen.
