Introduction of the Data Hub Enterprise system to manage data Collect, manage, and store metrics and benefits data (both build and impact metrics) for the ARRA funded Smart Grid Program Provide convenient access to data reporting functions via the SmartGrid.gov website Make data available to DOE for reporting, analysis, and visualizations Projects will have their own recipient specific project page to view data submitted The Data Hub supports data access and visualizations that are portrayed on SmartGrid.gov

Process & Background Once MBRPs are approved, projects are expected to report on a quarterly basis (refer to your individual project schedules) Based on an approved MBRP, we will create a project-specific data input template that presents the specific data fields that will be entered into the Data Hub If there are discrepancies between the template and your approved MBRP, please contact your Metrics and Benefits Team representative The template details will be incorporated into the Data Hub for customized reporting Once you receive the template and a username and password, you will be able to begin reporting

Accessing the Data Hub Smart Grid Data Hub ARRA Project Teams FederalReporting.govVIPERSSIPRIS One touch entry to all reporting functions

SmartGrid.gov Project Teams Page www.smartgrid.gov/teams You will find guidance documents and be able to access the Forum to share information with other project recipients

How will I get Access to the Data Hub? IDs will be assigned and sent via e-mail to the prime project contact upon approval of the MBRP The prime contact can request that others be added to the approved access list IDs will be given to these additional people via e-mail Users can create their own passwords once IDs are provided E-mail: projects-admin@smartgrid.govprojects-admin@smartgrid.gov Provide this information: Name, organization, & e-mail address

Using the Data Hub - Initial Set up

Two Ways to Submit Data Editable PDF Forms  Simple Web form approach for entering data into the form  Ability to save the file and route for additional input or internal approvals prior to submitting the form XML  Automated approach using an XML schema  Requires a programmer who understands how to create an XML document based on an XML schema

Reporting Data Flow Process for PDF Login Select PDF Complete PDF Submit PDF? Click “Submit” Yes No Yes Save PDF (can be shared and distributed to others) Click “Submit” while logged-in or upload No Data Format Check – Are there errors? Data Submitted for Metrics and Benefits Team Review And available for project team to view and print

Reporting Data Flow Process for XML Login Select and Download XSD Create XML that conforms to XSD Submit XML to Web Service No Yes No Data Format Check – Are there errors? Data Submitted for Metrics and Benefits Team Review And available for project team to view and print

Data Review and Approval Process Complete Submission No Does Data Conform to MBRP? Data Submitted – but awaiting review (PDF or XML) Metrics and Benefits Team Review Yes Metrics and Benefits Team, discusses issues with project team for data resubmittal Project Team Resubmits updated Data Submitted PDF Submitted XML
