3.  a bird, such as an eagle or a hawk, that kills and eats small birds and animals  Prey: an animal that is hunted and killed for food by another animal

4.  a bird or animal which feeds on dead animals which it has not killed itself  Carrion: dead meat

5.  Perch: Where a bird sits  Raptor : another word for bird of prey  Nocturnal: active at night like an owl  Extinct: a species or type of animal dies out

6.  eagle eye (noun) If someone has an eagle eye, they notice everything, even very small details. We sat down and started the exam under the eagle eye of the teacher.  eagle-eyed (adjective) My eagle-eyed mother noticed that some cakes had gone missing.

7.  to move very quickly and easily through the air, especially down from a height in order to attack The eagle swooped down to snatch a young rabbit  The peregrine falcon swoops at over 180mph
