5 Punching (n.)  Definition:  Definition: The act of making holes on materials with a punch (machine)  E.g.:  E.g.: Ventilation in small spaces is provided by punching holes on the metal or whatever the material covering the area. 7 Shear (v.)  Definition: to cut something by applying a scissoring force  E.g.: It is be hard to shear materials with unsharpened blades, hence the blades should be sharpened regularly after each use to maintain them for a long time and for better cutting results. 10 Blank (v.)  Definition:  Definition: the shaped piece of metal that is punched from the sheet   E.g.: Coins are an example of blank metals. They are punched out of metal sheets (or plates) in a particular shape, and then the necessary information such as year, value, and a pattern is printed on them. 12 Piercing (n.)  Definition: If the pierced sheet with the holes on it is the demanded or the finished product, this process is called piercing.  E.g.: You can water your flowers more effectively by piercing the pots from bottom to let excessive water go through the holes. 13 Flame cutting  Definition:  Definition: (metallurgy) Use of an oxyacetylene, oxyhydrogen, or oxycoal gas flame to cut thick metals.  E.g.:  E.g.: Flame-cutting can be dangerous if not carefully and correctly done as the gases used in this process are highly flammable. 17 plasma (n.)   Definition: the fourth state of matter. 18 Plasma cutting (n.)  Definition : Plasma cutting is a process that is used to cut steel and other metals of different thicknesses (or sometimes other materials) using a plasma torch.  E.g.:  E.g.: In this process, an inert gas (in some units, compressed air) is blown at high speed out of a nozzle; at the same time an electrical arc is formed through that gas from the nozzle to the surface being cut, turning some of that gas to plasma.
