1. My Dream Bedroom Room Theme: Sports Ms. Cody May 24 th 2007

2. Explanation of Project The reason for my theme of sports is that I am interested in sports and I thought that it would be a very calming place for me to hang out. I have become an architect by planning the layout of my room in a scale drawing and actually building my model. Architects must make a representation of the rooms they build in a scale drawing before they actually build them. The math concepts that I learned are that perimeter is the distance around a figure- like a fence and that the area is the space inside of a figure. Area is labeled in units squared.

3. Order Form- Objects The required objects for my room were: a bed, a mattress, a dresser, a nightstand.. I decided to add the optional items of a plasma TV and a bathroom for convenience and entertainment. I would have preferred to have a wood floor in my room because it is cooler in the warm climate of Tampico.

4. Floor Plan The measurements of my room are 20’ by 20’. (20 ft x 20 ft) The perimeter of my room is 80 ft and the area of my room is 400 ft squared. I had a problem when I wanted to put my bed near the door, it wouldn’t fit so I moved it to the other side of the room. I think that if I plan a dream bedroom again, I will make it larger to have more walking room.

5. Budget I shopped mostly at Wal-Mart because of the cheap prices. For this reason I could buy a plasma TV with the money that I saved on the other materials. I spent $2,800 so I was $200 under my budget of $3,000. Problems: I wanted to have a jacuzzi in my room but it would have cost too much money so I had to leave it out.
