Violence is NOT to be taken lightly.

Around the world at least 1 woman in every 3 has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused in her lifetime. Most often the abuser is a member of her own family.

Every 9 seconds, a woman in the United States is assaulted or beaten.

Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women—more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined. 92% of women surveyed listed reducing domestic violence and sexual assault as their top concern.

What is Domestic Violence?

Physical Violence. Verbal Abuse. Sexual, Emotional, and Psychological Pressure. Stalking.

Physical abuse involves being physically beaten or harmed. Being subjected to harmful conditions is also considered physical abuse.

An estimated 5% of college women experience a completed or attempted rape in a given year. In the United States, a rape is reported about once every five minutes.

17.7 million American women have been victims of attempted or completed rape.
