Roommate Bill of Rights Samantha DiFalco Resident Director Western Connecticut State University
Note from editor The Roommate Bill of Rights is used to help students think about the choices they are making. By helping students understand their rights and responsibilities as a roommate, they may make better choices and be more considerate of others as they live together. They may also learn to be more assertive and get help if they are living with a roommate who is not treating them or the room with respect. This can be adapted for each institution and can be used on bulletin boards, in programming, and as content in newsletters, electronic communications, and welcome packets. It can be an important addition to first floor meetings too!
