2 What is Propaganda? Material spread to support a cause or damage an opponent’s cause “Us vs Them” A form of communication aimed at influencing people on a position by presenting biased and one-sided arguments

4 What does Propaganda contain? Purpose (what is its goal?) –Examples: enlist in the army, resources, protect children, etc… Implied Message (Not to state something directly but to suggest indirectly.) Slogan or catchy phrase Graphics or Symbols (represent something) Targeted Audience –Try to get a certain group to do something Emotions – convey or cause

You will present you description and analysis to the class: 1.Description of the poster 2.Purpose/ Implied Message 3.Phrase or Slogan 4.Targeted Audience 5.Graphics/Symbols 6.Emotion(s) conveyed 7.Does it glamorize or vilify (bad/horrible) war?
