Early stage start-up technology company that was incorporated in 2009 in the State of North Carolina. Founded on its newly patented technology, Cartridge for the Generation of Ultra-High Pressure Hydrogen Gas (H 2 ) Corporate Structure: Copyright 2012 AHTC. All Rights Reserved. *** Protected by U.S. Patent# 7,967,879 & Patent App. SN: 13/170,865; 13/170,928 & 13/171,178***

The Cartridge for the Generation of Ultra-High Pressure H 2 can optimize or potentially replace many applications where explosives or very high gas pressures are utilized. Copyright 2012 AHTC. All Rights Reserved. *** Protected by U.S. Patent# 7,967,879 & Patent App. SN: 13/170,865; 13/170,928 & 13/171,178***

Cartridge for the Generation of Ultra-High Pressure H 2 Overcomes Previous Limitations of Hydrogen: Dangerously high voltages have been necessary to achieve high-pressure H 2 Portable production of continuous ultra-high pressure H 2 has not been achieved Copyright 2012 AHTC. All Rights Reserved. *** Protected by U.S. Patent# 7,967,879 & Patent App. SN: 13/170,865; 13/170,928 & 13/171,178***

Ignition  Chemical Reaction  Critical Start Pressure  H 2 Copyright 2012 AHTC. All Rights Reserved. *** Protected by U.S. Patent# 7,967,879 & Patent App. SN: 13/170,865; 13/170,928 & 13/171,178*** Burst Disc Ignition Compounds Water Aluminum Case

All Rights Reserved. *** Protected by U.S. Patent# 7,967,879 & Patent App. SN: 13/170,865; 13/170,928 & 13/171,178*** SPEC‘S: Cartridge Contains: 20g ignition compounds & 80g AL/H 2 0 fuel Energy Output: Peak chamber pressure of 97,000 psi (669 MPa) 722 kJ total 8.5 kJ produced per 1g of AL 1255 kJ total when H 2 burns w/air Byproduct: 4.4g of H 2 is produced with a volume of 50L @ STP

Powerful  One cartridge produces 6.8x more energy then TNT for the same weight.  When the H 2 contacts air, 120 kJ is released per gram of H 2.  From each gram of AL, 1/9 g of H 2 is released.  The chemical reaction + burning H 2 = 31.4 kJ/g of AL reacted. 9 Eco-Friendly  The cartridges are 100% recyclable and only emit water vapor.  No oil products are consumed in any part of the process.  The by-product, aluminum-oxide can be sold or converted back to aluminum. Capabilities / Advantages Copyright 2012 AHTC. All Rights Reserved. *** Protected by U.S. Patent# 7,967,879 & Patent App. SN: 13/170,865; 13/170,928 & 13/171,178***

Versatile  Cartridges can be configured to produce adjustable outputs for specific tasks. Capabilities/Advantages TIME PRESSURE Copyright 2012 AHTC. All Rights Reserved. *** Protected by U.S. Patent# 7,967,879 & Patent App. SN: 13/170,865; 13/170,928 & 13/171,178***

Portable  When auto-loaded into a chamber, a cartridge is initiated with a 9 volt battery. Capabilities / Advantages Copyright 2012 AHTC. All Rights Reserved. *** Protected by U.S. Patent# 7,967,879 & Patent App. SN: 13/170,865; 13/170,928 & 13/171,178***

Safe  When compared to explosives, fuels, and propellants, cartriges are safer to manufacture, transport, and store.  Cartridges can only be initiated when in the safe confinement of a chamber. Capabilities / Advantages

Does not Replace Bottled Hydrogen Disadvantages (8" diameter by 48" tall) 150 cu-ft of H 2 at 2000psi 52,582 grams H 2 $92 H 2 contents only It will cost 23 times more to produce the same amount of H 2 using the cartridge method. Ex: 4 cents vs..2 cents per gram of H 2. It is essential to capitalize on the total energy (pressure and temperature) from the reaction before the H 2 cools.

Dissimilar metals are bonded when the properties of two metals are needed in one part.  This can be accomplished when they are impacted together sufficiently. Using explosives is one method to achieve this.  In conjunction with NCSU, AHTC submitted a proposal for an NSF SBIR Phase I Grant: “High-Velocity Impact Bonding of Dissimilar Metals by Chemically Produced Hydrogen Energy”  Anticipated start date 12/1/13 Dissimilar Metal Bonding Copyright 2012 AHTC. 17 Dissimilar Metal Bonding  PHASE I: An Impact Bonding Machine replaces explosive welding and allows for a safe, inexpensive, assembly- line manufacturing environment

Dissimilar Metal Bonding  PHASE II: A portable tool providing a new capability for bonding in remote areas such as armored vehicles in the field or navy ships at sea. This tool may be mounted on robotic controls for assembly line manufacturing.

AHTC is confident that it will successfully be the first company to commercialize an Impact Bonding Machine and Portable Stud Bonding Tool. Our personnel are experts in the technology behind these products, and we have the backing and support of several U.S. companies that are in the explosive welding industry. At the present time we are working with a research team from the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at North Carolina State University and awaiting funding from the National Science Foundation.
