Standards and Courses Development 2014-15 Available Fall of 2015 Required Fall of 2017 Hospitality – Culinary Arts – Lodging and Tourism Family and Consumer Science
Standards and Courses Development 2015-16 Available Fall of 2016 Required Fall of 2018 Education and Training postponed to 2015-2016.
CTE Technical Content Standards Strand Outcome Competency = = = Multiple Units Multiple Competencies One or more competencies plus indicators New StandardsOld Standards No duplication of content. Ongoing renewal based on annual advisory committee input.
Course Development Considerations Courses must be adopted 2 years after availability. Course implementation and Program renewal not related.
Course Development Considerations Courses generally have a 120 hour minimum (40 and 280-hour maximum time requirement. Program must be comprised of at least 4 - 120 hour courses. (Two 60 hr. courses = One 120 hr.)
Course Development Considerations Capstone can be used for both in-school and out of school learning experiences. (Not one of the 4). No courses are required by ODE as prerequisites.
Pathway Modifications Engineering –DC and AC Electronic Circuits –Analog Based Electronic Devices –Biomedical Engineering: To Health or Eng. Health Science –Medical and Dental Office Technology –Dental Radiography Air Transportation –Name changes to reflect industry language.
Ag and Environmental Changes Food and Bioscience pathways merging. Announcement of course modifications 2014- 2015 (FY15). New/modified courses available fall 2015 with old courses being removed at that time.

Career Technical Education Testing End-of Course tests required the year they are available. Old test forms available for Seniors. Students are required to test in each course enrolled. During the transition to courses concentrators may be reported with as few as 3 tests with no penalty.
Career Technical Education Testing Old test forms and industry certification exams phase out after first year of EOC course availability. Field testing continues until enough students participate.
Career Technical Education Testing Each student’s cutoff score is an average of their EOC tests. Report Not Competent, Competent, Advanced. Other teachers in the same pathway may monitor.
CTE Tests for Pre-testing If a district uses ODE-approved vendor tests in the way the vendor prescribes and receives a student growth report with a teacher effectiveness rating, they are required to use the data as part of OTES.
