Team Roles 1.Team Manager: 1.Registers the team for tournaments. 2.Ensures the roster in the registration system is correct for tournaments. 3.Books hotel rooms blocks and flights. 4.Calls and leads team meetings as required. 5.Prepares the score sheet labels for tournaments, (template is online). 6.Communication link with the Club Executive. 2.Team Treasurer: 1.Sets up a bank account, typically with Manager and Treasurer signatures on checks. 2.Prepares the team budget (draft is online). 3.Deposits funds. 4.Issues checks. 5.Reports financials to the team at the team meetings. 3.Fundraising Coordinator: 1.Collects fundraising funds. 2.Reports fundraising by player. 3.Communicates with Club Sobeys rep 4.Distributes Sobeys cards 5.Orders t-shirts for the t-shirt campaign. 4.Tournament Coordinator: 1.Stays informed of teams registering. 2.Works with the coach to invite specific teams. 3.Runs the tournament. Puts up gym signs, prepares game schedule, tracks results etc.
Tournament Accommodations U14 – The players stay with the parents, this can be with at the hotel or elsewhere – The manager books the coaches hotel rooms (Friday night and Saturday). This is reimbursed by the club. U15-U18 – Accommodation is organized by the team and players stay in the hotel organized by the team. – The supervision of the players is the responsibility of the parents, not the coach. – The team pays for the coaches hotels. Transportation and meals for the coaches are the responsibility of the coaches. – The coaches flights for the U17/U18 Nationals are the responsibility of the team. – To support parents in attending the premiers, it’s recommended that each player get an allowance equal to 25% of the room cost for each premier. Parents that take other players into their room get the 25% allowance for that player.
Fundraising U14 – Fundraising is not required at U14. All costs are included in the club fee. U15-U18 – Fundraising is required to cover tournament registration, hotels and flights to the U17/U18 Nationals – Balls, gym space, coaching and uniforms are included in the Club fees and subsidized $100 per player by the Club.
Equipment All teams must have a first aid kit available at the practices and tournaments Ball bags and balls need to be returned to Kent Jensen at the end of the season
Gym Rules Security has been hired for all gyms. – Their role is to open the gym, operate locked systems and ensure the rules are followed. Rules 1.Never ever jam the door unlocked. 2.Street shoes stay in the front entry. Court shoes only in the gyms, 3.Use only the bathrooms off the gyms. 4.Do not use equipment in the equipment rooms. There have been issues with user groups using the school gyms. The Kings Club needs to maintain its reputation with the schools to continue to use the gyms. Please help to reinforce these rules.
Tournament Registration The registration process is now completely through the National Registration System. – CAKVC is in Zone 4 – Phone numbers need to be entered with dashes, ie – Players from last year can be looked up. Registration of the players with AVA is the responsibility of the parents. – The Team Manager cannot do this, an is sent to the player , and the link in that must be followed to complete the registration. – The player registration fee is paid at this time. – Membership fee is: $35 for U14 players, coaches and team staff $50 for U15-U18 players The registration of the Team in the premiers, Provincials and Nationals is the responsibility of the Team Manager. – This needs to be done immediately. The premiers, provincials and especially the national tournaments fill up. Registration is done the AVA website,
