3 About ASDAN Started in 1980 with a handful of schools centres registered in 2006 Profits are re- invested in further development, or tackling inequality ASDAN the acronym Registered Charity, Scottish office at Glasgow University Managed by teachers and lecturers

5 Status of ASDAN Approved under Section 96 & 97 by the DfES 70 points from UCAS for highest level of ASDAN Highlighted in Tomlinson Report Recognised by SQA as template for Core Skill development National Awarding Body for UK Referred to in the White Paper (Para 9.24)

14 Assessment Process Classroom practitioners actively involved in curriculum development Local consortium groups provide Mode 3 style moderation and support Each consortium meeting managed by a regional co- ordinator for ASDAN These termly meetings also provide a forum for exchange of good practice
