2 Revision Revision classes are continuing at lunchtime, after school and occasional Saturdays until half term Check with your subject teachers what sessions you need to attend Make the most of the sessions – ask questions and go prepared with revision books etc

3 Exam Preparation Exam timetables will be issued shortly Do you know when your exams are? Do you know which paper is which? Do you know what equipment you need for each paper? Do you know what skills you need to demonstrate on each paper? Do you know how to access the higher marks?

4 Study Leave You can access your normal lessons until half term If you have a morning exam during this time, you should register first before reporting to the exam line up area at 8.50 If you have an afternoon exam during this time, you should report to the exam line up area at 1.20 – you will be allowed to leave lessons at 1.00 then you can have lunch before the exam After half term you just attend school for exams, but there may still be revision sessions available – check with your subject teachers

6 Examinations You must arrive in school 15-20 minutes before an exam is due to start Full uniform required You need to bring your own equipment You can take in a clear plastic pencil case – remember that you MUST write in BLACK ink You can take in a bottle of still water but the label must be removed No mobiles, ipods or other electronic devices can be taken into the exam room

7 Protocol Appropriate behaviour inside and outside the venue No talking or making eye contact once inside If you feel unwell on the day of an exam try to come in, but ask parents to ring Mrs Lucas directly and inform her If you are too unwell to attend a phone call to Mrs Lucas must be received by 8.45 and a doctor’s letter must be provided Report to Mrs Lucas before the exam starts if you feel unwell – she will give you a blue card – if you feel unwell during the exam, put your hand up and wait

8 Line Up Areas If your exam is in the Gym, please line up behind the Sports Hall near the Art block – bags can be placed under the stair well If your exam is in the Main Hall, please line up at the side of the Sports Hall near the picnic benches – bags can be left just outside the Hall at the top of the steps Make sure you are there 10 minutes before the exam is due to start

9 Timing of Exams Check the timings of your exams carefully Where you have exam clashes you will have a supervised break between papers – bring food and drink with you Check carefully the length of afternoon exams – they start at 1.30 – buses leave just after 3.00 – if your exam runs beyond the school bus time, you will need to make alternative arrangements to get home safely as the buses cannot wait for you

10 Results GCSE results are issued on Thursday 22 nd August You should come into school between 9am and 11am Representatives from the Sixth Form will be present to check if you have sufficient points for your chosen SHS options
