The FDA’s power to regulate performance- enhancing dietary supplements such as the caffeine- like weight-loss aid ephedra, androstenedione and the muscle-building amino acid creatine monohydrate was dealt a major blow in 1994 with the passage of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA). o MLB’s controversy over performance enhancers has raged ever since allegations surfaced in 2003 that the Bay Area Laboratory Cooperative (BALCO), a California nutritional-supplement company, had been distributing illegal performance-enhancing drugs to some of the game’s top players, including Barry Bonds and New York Yankees slugger Jason Giambi.

Sports doping breaks the value of sports, affects health, and it is harmful to the athletes. 5.More and more athletes admit that they take PED's, it is time for the dangerous game to stop. 6. Sport doping can only be eliminated by enlighten people effects of drugs, establish strict regulations, and frequent testing. 7.Athletes who continue to dope should face their fake athletic passion.

However, there are consequences to doping. For instance, as pointed out in Marion Jones Comes Clean article “Marion Jones was stripped of her Olympic medals she won while competing in violation of rules and lost her freedom for a decade” (2009, Jones). Sport doping will damage an athlete’s reputation. As illustrated in Ryan Quinn’s article (2008), “The secret testimony by the elite athletes was leaked to the media and it made the public demand answer to legal questioning” (Page 80). The sports fan would want to know the details about the illegal drug cases that related to professional athletes.
