2 OVERVIEW

3  All students in grades 3-11, except for APTA students, will be tested ◦ Acceptable Use of the Internet Form  Testing accommodations as indicated on a student’s IEP, Section 504, or LEP Plan must be offered ◦ WVS.326  Test is to be administered according to the state/county/school window

4  Only trained Examiners who have signed the security agreement (pg. 3, 2 nd bullet) can administer the test  Only trained Examiners can serve as Scribes  Online Writing score will be a part of the R/LA score

5  Under no circumstances is the administration of the 2010 WESTEST 2 Online Writing to disrupt or displace any regularly scheduled virtual school class offered in school.

10 Materials and Delivery  Collect and file the following: ◦ Signed Agreements (Appendices D, E, and F, pgs. 42-44) ◦ Verification of Training (Appendix G, pg. 45) ◦ WVS.326 Reports (Special Education Student Testing Options Report) from Examiners ◦ Scribe Verification Forms (Form C, pg. 41)  Submit copy to CTC ◦ Irregularity Form (Form D, pg. 32)  Submit copy to CTC

11 Materials and Delivery  Provide paper and pens/pencils for students to use for prewriting and rough drafts  2010 WESTEST 2 Online Writing Administration Manuals ◦ Provide copies to Examiners during training session  Prepare and deliver to Examiners student testing rosters with student WVEIS numbers  Deliver appropriate secure “Password of the Day” list ◦ One Examiner per lab be responsible for entering the Password of the Day

12 Accommodations  Ensure that students with IEPs, Section 504 Plans, and those identified as LEP students receive accommodations are stated in their plans  Directions, passages and prompts may be read aloud by the examiner, scribe, or by a screen reader  Deliver the appropriate WVS.326 forms to Examiners

13 Accommodations  Monitor the test administration and document to ensure examiner is providing accommodations as per IEPs, 504 Plans, or LEP Plans  Ensure that a Scribe is provided for a student ◦ if so indicated on the IEP, Section 504, or LEP Plan ◦ if student does not have an Internet permission on file  Maintain Scribe Verification (Form C, pg. 31)

14 Reporting  To County Test Coordinator ◦ Loss of materials ◦ Cheating ◦ Security breach ◦ Testing administration breach ◦ Copyright infringement

15 Invalidation (pg. 5)  Examiner must report any deviation from the standard testing procedures to principal/building level coordinator.  Principal/building level coordinator documents incident and informs CTC.  CTC notifies OAAR ◦ Decisions on invalidation and Online Writing retest are made

20 Materials and Delivery (Prior to Testing)  Review the 2010 WESTEST 2 Online Writing Manual prior to administering assessment  Keep the “Password of the Day” list in a locked, secure location  Check student testing rosters, making sure student WVEIS numbers are listed with student names  Review WVS.326 - Special Education Student Testing Options Reports

21 Materials and Delivery (Day of Testing)  Enter the “Password of the Day” prior to students entering the testing session  Provide paper and pencil/pen for rough draft  Distribute appropriate grade-level WV Writing Rubric  Distribute “Steps for Completing the WESTEST 2 Online Writing” (Form A, pg. 29)  Distribute “Writing Checklist” (Form B, pg. 30)  Distribute student WVEIS numbers if needed

22 Materials and Delivery (During Testing)  Make sure name of student on computer screen is the correct student testing at that computer  Make sure that the grade level is correct  Monitor testing session ◦ Maintain a quiet atmosphere ◦ Monitor for irregularities  Do not assist students with content of composition  Provide accommodations and document on WVS.326

23 Materials and Delivery (After Testing) ◦ Collect all rough drafts, scratch paper, pencils/pens ◦ Collect WV Writing Rubrics, “Steps...” and “Writing Checklists” ◦ Record any irregularities ◦ Keep a copy of roster and document successful submissions ◦ Deliver to the Principal:  Student pre-writing, rough drafts  WVS.326 Special Education Student Testing Option Report(s)  Irregularity Forms
