Chemical and mechanical stabilization of mine storage facilities and soil We prevent dispersion of dust and particulate material by using native plants and microorganisms. – Higher effectiveness at lower investment and operational costs – Up to 30% potential reduction of particulate matter due to air erosion – Potential metals recovery – Potential power generation – More aesthetically attractive solution Technology tested in Salar de la India (Chile) (Project FONDEF D06I1097), and implemented in Talabre (Chile) world's largest tailing dam. 5

11 Theoretical yields based on data from empirical copper accumulation: - Grass (Polypogon australis): 7.0 tons dry weight/ha/year. Average copper accumulation: 4.6 kg Cu/ha - Woody (Atriplex deserticola): 20 tons dry weight/ha/year. Average copper accumulation: 26 kg Cu/ha - Phragmites australis: 52.7 tons dry weight/ha/year. 13 Biological systems (plants and microorganisms) to the depletion of copper and sulfate, and improvement of pH and electrical conductivity. The offer includes diagnosis, conceptual and detailed engineering, implementation and monitoring of the solution.. Technology being tested in a semi-industrial scale in Codelco Chuquicamata. 13 2. 14 3. Biofilter for depletion and/or recovery of metals Development of adsorbent matrixes made off native brown algae biomass for the recovery and/or depletion of copper, arsenic and boron. Technology at experimental stage. 14
