Students will be researching physically and emotionally safe classroom environments as well as classrooms that are conducive to learning. Students will be designing a pamphlet about creating a classroom climate that is safe and conducive to learning. This pamphlet will contain resources, information and ideas for teachers to create a classroom that “works” best for students. Culminating Project: Concrete Design - Design a physical space that meets the specified goals, while working within realistic resource constraints. To develop knowledge of the options (physical things, styles, themes) available within designing a classroom, as well as the tradeoffs involved in choosing among them. Develop deeper understanding of practical constraints and how to determine good solutions.
