2 Two types of Carbs –Sugar (simple) to much is bad for you –Starch (complex) Complex is better for you Half your energy is from carbs –Fuels brain and muscles - Examples of simple: cookies, lollipops, cotton candy ect. - Examples of complex: milk, pasta, ect.

3 Good fats Fruits & vegetables ect. – (unsaturated) Bad fats Meat dairy ect. –(Saturated & trans fat) Needed for body development saturated increase heart dieses & cloistral Helps suck in vitamins

4 Makes muscles and body tissues Animals need it & plants need it Helps development Two types –(structural) found in healthy foods –(functional) in sweet tasting foods –Makes up body structure

5 Vitamin D helps repair torn muscles & bones Vitamin E makes cells stronger Vitamin B helps give protean & energy Vitamin C helps vision Two types Soluble –Stored in fat and liver till needed Insoluble –Not stored

6 Helps make bowel movement Reduces heart risk Lowers cholesterol Found in fruits & grains 2 types –Soluble Dissolves in water –Insoluble Doesn’t dissolve in water
