7 New Bedford High School 3500 students Students divided into four houses Block scheduling 3 academic levels for 9 th and 10 th graders-honors and college 10-2 semester AP courses for 11 th and 12 graders Over 30 clubs/sports No application process Early Feb. course selections- all students registered for NBHS-does not affect admission to other schools Open House is typically held in January/February Freshman Academy-smaller groupings to help with transition to high school Kristine Ainsley Lead Guidance Counselor

8 Fairhaven High School 700 students 3 Academic levels for 9 th and 10 th graders-level I, level II, and Honors 7 AP courses for 11 th and/or 12 th graders Block scheduling/4 courses (1/2 year) -85 minute periods Extracurricular activities and sports Open House typically held in January/February 9 th grade orientation-to help students with transition No application-any students attend regard of grades or behavior-FHS takes 25 Acushnet students-last year only 12 attended-lottery if needed Students must select FHS by April 1st Debbie Sarrey-Director of Guidance

9 Bristol County Agricultural High School Located in Dighton 400 students Shop and academics (1/2 the day spent in each) College prep curriculum Can take foreign language at community college to fulfill college requirements-as part of tech prep program Extracurricular activities and sports Applications due as soon as possible Students should take a tour of the school Admissions based on attendance, grades, conduct, interview and recommendations Students will receive decision in March Orientation program held in summer Barbara Vadnais-Admissions Recruiter

11 Bishop Stang High School Catholic High School in Dartmouth 800 students 3 academic levels-College prep, Standard, Honors for 9 th & 10 th graders 7 AP courses offered for 11 th and 12 th graders 30 sports teams/20 extra- curricular activities 91% of students attend four year colleges after graduation Tuition-$6,700 per year Financial aid is available Town of Acushnet provides transportation Placement exam-December 2nd Uniforms required Students encouraged to spend a day at the school Decisions by end of February- must deposit by mid-March Glenn Forgue- Admissions Director

12 Tabor Academy Located in Marion 495 students Boarding/Day School Levels of courses-honors, AP, independent study Extracurricular activities/athletics Tuition-$26,200 for day students/$37,100 for boarding students Applications are due in January Student must take SSAT exam Visits upon request Interview and essays required Teacher recommendations required Students notified of decision in March Admissions Office Tabor Academy ext. 2219
