NDMVA Social Networking Policy If you participate in social media (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, or ANY other online social networking site) as a NDMVA member, you must abide by the following policy: Standards of conduct and rules of behavior apply to your online behavior. Do not post anything that is associated with the Prohibited Activities of AmeriCorps. It is your responsibility to represent NDMVA in a professional manner.

NDMVA Social Networking Policy If you participate in social media (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, or ANY other online social networking site) as a NDMVA member, you must abide by the following policy: Post meaningful, respectful comments. Avoid spam and remarks that are off-topic or offensive.  Do not post anything that is false, misleading, obscene, defamatory, profane, discriminatory, libelous, threatening, harassing, abusive, hateful, or embarrassing to another person or entity.

NDMVA Social Networking Policy If you participate in social media (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, or ANY other online social networking site) as a NDMVA member, you must abide by the following policy:  Do not post pictures of people under the age of 18 without a parent release form completed and in the hands of your Site Director.

NDMVA Social Networking Policy It is also helpful to remember as a NDMVA member you should: Always pause and think before posting. Realize that NDMVA’s relationships are valuable assets that can be damaged through a thoughtless comment/post. Remember your online presence reflects NDMVA. Understand that all e ‐ communications on our social networking sites are subject to monitoring by NDMVA staff. Know that violation of this policy can result in disciplinary action as explained in your contract.

Social Networking Tips Before posting anything think about this… Who are you friends with/followed by/can view your information and what they can see (especially regarding complaints/discussions about work, inappropriate pictures or statuses, among other things) Grad schools as well as future employers regularly google candidates’ names to check their online profiles. Protect your future and think before you post anything.

Social Networking Tips Before posting anything think about this… Act like you would in real life. If you wouldn’t say it to a person’s face, don’t post it about them. Also if you are friends with your boss, co-workers, Site Director, mother, etc. and you wouldn’t want them to read what you are posting don’t post it.

Social Networking Tips Before posting anything think about this… Remember you are not allowed to personally post any pictures of people who are underage that you work with on your own personal pages (i.e. you cannot post pictures of your students on your own facebook page).
