LOGO PERPAMSI (Indonesian water supply association)  was established in 1972  Members: 421 water utilities  Water utilities owned by local governments are automatically being members of PERPAMSI  Private water companies have to register for their memberships in PERPAMSI  has 29 local representatives cover 33 provinces  playing its role in facilitating partnership to benefit members

LOGO 48% Well-performed 52% Non-performed Performance evaluation of Indonesian Water utilities (2012) Critical issue: to improve performances in all aspects The idea: Well-performed utilities are requested to share their best practices to non-performed utilities

LOGO WOP initiative  Develop international and national WOPs:  International WOP in collaboration with Waterlinks, ADB, etc.  National WOP (between Indonesian water utilities) facilitated by PERPAMSI itself  International partnerships often come up with some weaknesses: different language, culture, inapplicable knowledge and technology  Develop an Indonesian way of WOP: employing local values, solidarity, self-finance to start

LOGO Best practice transfer  Pilot project, exchange visit, on the job training  Ice breaking: culinary picnic, social media (Facebook)  Mentors run-up and sharing between mentors

LOGO Impact and sustainability  When starting partnership, the goal and target are set based on mutual agreement: - Target of pilot project - Target of learning  The obligation to submit monthly report to PERPAMSI during the program.  Setting up KPIs of partnerships for internal evaluation and continuous improvement

LOGO  Both partners encouraged to continue their solidarity partnership after the program, focusing on the same or other best practices. Impact and sustainability  Past recipients encouraged to be mentors e.g. assigned to share their knowledge with neighbouring water utilities  To create centers of excellence in regions

LOGO Challenges  Improvement and capacity building for mentors and fasilitators  Need of supporting partners to enhance and expand the WOP program in the future  Sustaining the changes/reforms made.
