11 HEADQUARTERS Headquarters is our home page. It is here users can access “The Bunker,” showing the 17 dirtiest tricks dealer use against unsuspecting buyers, and how to avoid them.

12 SCAN In order to scan a vehicle identification number (VIN) barcode, the user must enter the dealer’s asking price and the current odometer reading.

13 SCAN (Entering the Asking Price) This step requires the user to enter the dealer’s asking price. It is used to determine how much profit the dealer is trying to make on the transaction when compared to the real-time dealer auction cost.

14 SCAN (Entering the Odometer Reading) This step requires the user to enter the vehicle’s current odometer reading. SNAFU Scan uses this information to compare it to the last reported odometer reading from an optional Autocheck account. If there is a discrepancy between the entered odometer and the odometer reading from Autocheck, this means the dealer illegally rolled back the vehicle’s mileage.

15 SCAN Activating the SCAN button switches the smartphone to the camera view. When a VIN barcode is within the viewfinder, the camera snaps a photograph of the barcode which is then decoded in our database and sent for processing.

16 PRICING The Pricing page brings together all the vehicle information on one screen. From the asking price to the number of factory recalls—the user now has accurate information on how much the dealer has invested in the vehicle. Without all the smoke and mirrors of typical used car selling tactics. This information coupled with the amount of time the dealer has had the vehicle in their inventory, can save the user thousand off the dealer’s asking price.

17 RECALLS (Header View) One of SNAFU Scan’s best features is how it may likely save the life of a user. A full eighty percent of used cars over two years old have multiple factory recalls. Some are extremely dangerous and others are not. Used car dealers do not check the vehicle’s recalls before selling it to the public. This is a free feature and may be used an unlimited amount of times. Any factory recall is fixed free by the vehicle’s manufacturer.

18 RECALLS (Component View) This recall can be deadly to the uninformed owner. In order to have this front air bag replaced, the current owner simply needs to visit any Toyota dealer in the United States. This air bag would be replaced free of charge.

19 MY VINs On this page the user has a record of each VIN scanned. By touching a particular VIN record, it pulls up the PRICING results page. If after scanning a vehicle the dealer rejects their SNAFU Scan Fair Price Offer, the user can turn the deal off and it drops to the bottom of the list.

20 THE BUNKER (Index View) This section contains 17 of the dirtiest dealer tricks. Each trick is categorized in sections: The Issue, The Dealer Tactic, and The SNAFU Scan Tactic. By reading the SNAFU Scan Tactic the user learns how to defeat the dealer’s attempt at deceiving them.

21 THE BUNKER (Issue View) When the user drills down into the trick, they’ll see what is; the issue, The Dealer Tactic, and the SNAFU Scan Tactic. The information contained in The Bunker could save you thousands as well as hours of headaches.

22 AUTOCHECK (Optional Account) A user can opt to integrate their own unlimited Autocheck account for vehicle history reports. Autocheck allows SNAFU Scan to display; last official odometer reading, title status (clean, salvage, or rebuilt), and the vehicle’s accident history. Add Autocheck user credentials in the settings screen seamlessly integrates both products.
