4. Today’s Situation 300,000 SMEs in Gujarat but, Government Agencies reach 15,000 or 5% in a year? Quality of Industrial Service Agencies is not measured? No single Business Support agency for SMEs with presence in strategic Cities and Growth Centres on the line of developed nations like UK’s ‘Business Link 4 London’.

5. How Did We Get Here? Fragmented approaches and activities of Public and Private organisations, Banks, specialists and consultants in Management, Growth & Funding of SMEs. Banks and Consultants like to focus on Medium to Large projects. Gujarat is far ahead in Industrial and Religious sectors but, Far behind in Technology, Tourism & Social Enterprise landscape!

6. How Did We Get Here? Historically, Gujaratis are – More Entrepreneurs but, less Service providers, compared to say Maharashtra or Southern States. Make more money but, earn less education! Visit Globally but, Export far less good and services. Original assumptions like “Government is responsible for Business development”, or “Resources are not available” - are no longer valid today.

Assist Businesses to develop Exports, Collaborations and JVs. Assist Banks and VCs to fund viable Projects and Entrepreneurs.

8. Available Options Advantages & Disadvantages are with each single Alternative Strategy. Universities are not producing Industry-Ready adults. There is no Single Agency to Support SMEs in Gujarat from Strategic Management to Export Development, Business Planning, Fund-raising, Implementation, Training & Information.
